Bedlam Corner

Tucked into a snug corner in one of the most authentic Irish bars in Vancouver is a small table that, on Sunday evenings, is surrounded by as many musicians as can wedge themselves in. This band of merry musical men and women is led by hosts Elegwen O’Maoileoin (Damanta, Corset) and Michael Viens (Blackthorn) – both singers who, between them, play uilleann pipes, whistles, bodhrán, bouzouki, guitar and harmonicas.

Musical friends from near and far regularly drop in to share in the mayhem at Bedlam Corner, and the craic is always mighty. The music they play is well-steeped in the Irish tradition but they aren’t afraid to explore and push the boundaries a bit.

Bedlam Corner is more than just a place, a group of musicians or a state of mind – it is a dynamic musical experience best shared with friends, preferably over a pint of Guinness.
