Join Robert MacDonald of The Lowland and Border Piper’s Society as he shares the story of this ancient instrument and demonstrates its unique sound. He will be accompanied by Irish, Northumbrian and Scottish small-pipers as he traces the trail of the pipes from Neolithic times through to the present, checking in along the way on the Picts, the Emperor Nero, the French Court of the Sun King and even the DaVinci Code!
